Ronald Hofman, M.D.

Dr. Hofman was born in Bozeman, MT and lived in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Los Angeles, CA, and Muskegon, MI in his youth. He is married to Heidi and has four children and eight grandchildren. A graduate of Calvin College and University of Michigan Medical School, he completed his Pediatric Residency in Grand Rapids, joining Alger Pediatrics in 1984. He is board certified through the American Board of Pediatrics and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He was chairman of the department of Pediatrics at Helen DeVos Children's Hospital from 1996-98.  He was Chairman of Community Pediatrics at HDVCH until 2013.  Dr. Hofman continues to be a member of HDVCH Foundation Board since 1998.  He is currently a member of Spectrum Health Hospital Board and is the Chairman of the HDVCH’s Board Committee. He is a board member of the Meijer Gardens and a member of the University of Michigan Medical School Admission Committee.  He serves as a Cadet counselor at Neland Ave. Christian Reformed Church and organizes the medical team for the Cadet International Camporee, volunteers at Baxter Community Center in the Health Clinic and is the medical director for Haiti Foundation Against Poverty volunteering in Port-au-Prince one week a year since 2015.  He is a Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at Michigan State University Medical School and faculty for HDVCH Pediatric Residency.  A recipient of the Building Bridges Award from Camp Tall Turf, he has been president of the Board of the camp and initiated the Helen DeVos Children's Hospital Asthma Camp at Tall Turf. He was named the St. Francis Award recipient for 2013 for Baxter Community Center.
